Environment: OpenX 2.6

Passed QA Version/s: OpenX 2.7.31-beta

 Description  « Hide
In OpenX 2.6 text banners stopped parsing html formatting tags. It used to work in previous versions.

A text banner example:
<strong> BoldTitle </strong> <br> StandardText

Should show as:
BoldTitle
StandardText

Now just displays:
<strong> BoldTitle </strong> <br> StandardText

Old banners before the upgrade worked fine.

This one needs Product team comments.
What is the difference between html ad and text ad then?

Michal Czosnyka - 05/Aug/08 02:52 PM
For new OpenX 2.6 users this text and html separation shouldn't be any problem. The problem appears when users upgrade from e.g. 2.4 to 2.6. When they have text ads with html tags defined in 2.4 (where it was working), after upgrade it doesn't work cause text ad won't parse html tags any more.

I didn't upgrade database but I need this functionality. In docs it does say that I am able to do that.
We are using advanced html as a workaround but the link for the text is not manipulated by Openx which is a big problem. So, I'm afraid I have to downgrade if it's possible at all.
That's a big issue, guys.

This is a problem on fresh installs too.
I have been using a really old phpAdsNew version and text ads with html are a big issue for me. I installed a fresh copy of OpenX on a different domain where I am migrating to. I have the same problem with text ads displaying unparsed html. I really need my ad server to parse html in text ads because they are styled by a CSS file that is included on all of my sites. I love the new program but I can't use it until this issue is fixed. - Thank you!

Hello,

I am having the same problem as everyone else. In my older phpads installation, i could style my text ads using "per site" style sheets.
In the 2.6 version of Open X the formatting is not working. The entire code shows up instead of the styled text ads.

I'm working with a fresh install of 2.6 as well, not an upgrade.

Any solutions?

For all those people watching this ticket, the fix will be in 2.6.6 (which is currently being worked on in a branch).

The fix is trivial, you can get the 2.6 patch from here

Closing issues now resolved by the merge down from the 2.7.31

reopening for verification in 2.6.6

Appologies, this was fixed in the 2.6.6 branch, but not merged down.

This has now been merged into 2.6.6-rc2

Works in 2.6.6-rc2. Closing.
